HIQUTE DIAMOND & KWAN-TEK Partner for Quantum Metrology
HIQUTE DIAMOND and KWAN-TEK sign a strategic partnership to develop quantum metrology solutions for industry and research, strengthening Europe’s diamond-based quantum sensor ecosystem.
This partnership is an opportunity to leverage the industrial and technological expertise acquired by HIQUTE DIAMOND with its quantum diamond materials to speed up the development of KWAN-TEK’s metrology solutions.
HIQUTE DIAMOND will supply state of the art quantum grade diamond doped with Nitrogen Vacancy centers for integration by KWAN-TEK in demanding products for Education, Research and Industry applications. KWAN-TEK will provide its expertise and services in the characterization of the quantum properties of diamond for quantum sensing, thereby contributing to establishing standards for diamond qualification for the community.
About HIQUTE DIAMOND
HIQUTE DIAMOND develops, produces and commercializes diamond material for high tech applications. HIQUTE DIAMOND was founded by top researchers from LSPM Lab (Sorbonne Paris Nord, Villetanneuse) and the Deeptech startup Studio Technofounders.
HIQUTE DIAMOND goal is to become a major supplier of diamond material for the development of new products leveraging the physical properties of this unique material.
HIQUTE DIAMOND is based in Paris area and is serving customers all over the world with 3 types of products:
- Ultrapure diamond substrate can be integrated into a radiation detection device operating in an extreme environment or serve as the basis for an architecture for very sensitive quantum sensors in which the colored centers are incorporated a posteriori.
- Boron-Doped diamond substrate: boron makes it possible to control their electrical conductivity, paving the way for their use as a basic brick for production of vertical components for power electronics. These diamonds will notably make it possible to develop vertical diamond power electronics components essential to achieving unrivaled current performance.
- NV centered diamond substrate: they contain a high concentration of NV (nitrogen-vacancy) type colored centers which are essential for the development of wide-field quantum sensors such as vector magnetometers. HIQUTE DIAMOND produces nitrogen-doped and isotopically enriched 12C references which makes it possible to reduce the magnetic spin pool surrounding the NV centers, a crucial element for the development of high-sensitivity magnetic sensors.
KWAN-TEK develops and markets metrology solutions based on diamond quantum sensors. The Company offers a range of sensitive and stable instruments for various industrial and research applications. KWAN-TEK’s technology is based on the optical interrogation of a particular defect in diamond, which allows to measure magnetic fields with high accuracy.
KWAN-TEK was founded with the conviction that Quantum Sensing will become mainstream in critical applications that require precision measurements. The diamond sensor technology uniquely combines robustness and accuracy to be deployed in Industries.
Based in Lorient (Brittany, West of France), KWAN-TEK’s team of 24 people is highly multidisciplinary, with experts in quantum physics, photonics, electronics, mechanics and software, working closely with the marketing to drive innovation.
The Company is developing on 3 verticals:
- 1. In Education & Research, the KWANTEACH product currently on the market is an experimental platform for teaching quantum physics and engineering designed to meet the global need for training in quantum technologies
- 2. KWAN-TEK designs a high-stability magnetic field sensor providing magnetic heading data without the need for recalibration, for use in navigation;
- 3. Finally, the Company develops non-destructive testing solutions based on a quantum diamond magnetometer aimed at checking the integrity of critical metallic pieces in high-stress industrial equipment relevant to aerospace, energy and defense.
